So this weekend saw the Sheffield Christmas lights being turned on by Mel C, aka, Sporty Spice (remember the Spice Girls?) So that said, we here at the Alternative Store think its now ok, to crack open the mince pies and listen to those Christmas albums we love to hate. Its also the perfect time to talk about the treats we want, and think you may want to find in your stocking this year..... Fingers missing, what are The Hundreds playing at?? Oh whats that? They're missing for a reason? So you can text/tweet/fb even when you're wearing gloves? Ill drink (my mulled wine) to that my friend. Did you know 70% of your body heat escapes from your head? Well it does, and to stop it pop a beanie on your head and it'll stop the heat escaping, and you'll look good to boot. Spending new years weekend at your friends, or even Auntie Mildreds, you'll need something to put all your PJ's and slippers in, and this overnight bag is perfect for that. This week we've had some seriously nice deliveries in store, and with new items coming in every day of the week some are not on the website, but if your in and around Sheffield this week come in store and visit us.....we're not scary, honestly. Proof that the varsity jacket is a staple in this seasons wardrobe, along with all things Americana, this gorgeous quality and stunning varsity design from premier street brand 10 Deep is turning a lot of heads in store this week. With bold blue set off by embroided patches and bold white fonts, make this jacket eye catching and a stand out piece. So this Tuesday some of the girls and guys from The Alternative Store went out to see some Hip-Hop theatre, courtesy of the good people at Rationale Production based here in Sheffield. It was an incredible night and we had an amazing time watching so many talented people filled with a passion for street-dance and the culture surrounding it. Firstly, sorry its been a while since the last blog, but I can tell you that the last few months have been hectic within The Alternative Store/Fuse HQ. We are so close to being complete with our re-branding and new look. So many new amazing and fresh brands are now in stock both on-line and in our shop in Sheffield. As fast as we get new snap-back designs in, they're going out of store so fast its making our heads spin. ..they seem to be the headgear to be seen in this season. With such brands as The Hundreds, Rebel 8, FSAS, King Apparel, Mishka and fresh this week the new Rebel8 x FSAS hook up, the best place to get new and fresh designs is obviously The Alternative Store. The same can be said for our new huge range of streetwear brands, such as Mishka, some seriously beautiful designs.... We also got an amazing drop from one of our other favourites, The Hundreds featuring this amazingly kitsch but seriously stylish tee, which two of our members of staff have already eyed up for payday!! Also, the highly anticipated co-lab between FSAS and Rebel8 dropped into store at the end of last week, and it hasn't let us or any of our customers down. Infusing some tattoo inspired influences as well as street-culture references, crew necks and t-shirts are in there as well as the aforementioned Snap back caps....... We are having new deliveries of new snap-backs and other hats in store every week, and they are selling out so fast. We have some of our hats online, but we have a wider selection in our store in Sheffield...... What better excuse to come and see our mugs??
